I have been painting since retirement in 2006. At first representational and then, because of the freedom of expression, abstract art. My paintings are on cradled boards to support the oil and cold wax medium I employ. Initially my paintings were very geometric but with time there has been a change to a more fluid and organic style that would allow or encourage the viewer to search for hidden meanings in my paintings.

In addition to painting, I have recently pursued an interest in pottery by using one of the earliest techniques of pottery…”pinch pots”. The pieces are made solely by hand without the aid of a potter’s wheel and thus are never “perfect.” In addition they are fired in a saw dust kiln with colorants such as seaweed, salts, and sulfates producing results that can never be predicted but usually reflect the vagaries of nature.
