The gallery follows its regular hours and Philadelphia guidelines for masking and maintaining social distances.
Artist Kathran Siegel will be in the gallery to answer questions and talk about her work on three Saturdays in September, the 10th, 17th, and 24th, from noon to five p.m.
I enjoy finding evidence of the artist’s hand among those ideas that make an object unique. I use power tools and large industrial machinery, but often choose a u-gouge over an electric grinder or router to carve out an area of wood. There are times when I use an x-acto knife to carve. I do a lot of thinking with my hands. This manual approach slows down my production, but it gives me needed time to reflect and revise as I go. It is this process that keeps me coming back to the work.
