The artist will be present in the gallery every Saturday during the span of the exhibit.
Order and surprise motivate my work in equal measure. I often start a painting with exuberant chaos, then impose a grid to provide structure and a path forward. The light and colors of coastal Maine surround me when I paint, and often end up in my work. Our world is full of examples of the ordered and the random. By allowing natural chaos into my work I am continually surprised by the result.
Linger is what I want to do in moments of beauty, contentment and awe. We must learn to savor all the good, to slow down, and to spend time with what matters most. I hope this exhibit invites you to slow down and to look, linger and enjoy.
