I wonder why the 30,000-year-old cave paintings of France are so expressive as any modern work, and what is the mysterious human compulsion to leave some sort of record of our experience. My work examines the nature of art and the obsession to produce it, refining the dross of modern images and stimuli while multiplying meaning in this cacophonous existence.

My recent trio of large heads is an examination of the history of the human form, beginning with Olmec Man and the poet Homer and ending in a graphic representation of the interior life of an average citizen.
