Deep

More people have traveled to outer space, than have ventured the deep seas. There are better maps of the surface of Mars than of our own ocean floor and we understand more about the dark side of the moon than ocean life.  Philadelphia artist, Sara Bakken celebrates the unique creatures and landscapes existing in these seemingly inhospitable environments.  Through her sculptures, she honors these aliens of inner space.  "Deep" will features abstract sculptures and wall pieces composed of sandblasted, blown glass and manipulated silk organza.
