For the Love of the Vessel

MUSE Gallery will be closed from March 13th through March 31st

We are concerned about the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the health of our patrons, visitors and the members of our cooperative gallery.

This is a challenging time in our community and we want to continue to inspire and share the power of art with our exhibitions.
Our exhibition continues to be open by appointment.

For the Love of the Vessel … revisiting the vessel tradition, where my journey began.

Initially, I created functional vessels to be held, used and cherished.  Later, I moved on to sculpture with its limitless possibilities for expression.  Now, I am revisiting and honoring the vessel as pure sculptural form.  This grounding in the tradition gives me freedom to soar.

My fascination with the natural world is my constant.  I am drawn to the transforming effects of wind, water and fire as they speak to the passage of time.

Working with white and red clay, my pieces are hand-built, pinched, coiled, carved, burnished and smoke-fired.    I am enjoying exploring the variety of techniques, clays and firings
