Shirley Kern is an abstract painter residing in Princeton, New Jersey who creates art at her nearby studio in Hopewell, New Jersey. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Northern Vermont University.

Kern has established a bold abstract painting style and has recently exhibited her work at Princeton University, New York City galleries and museums in the Midwest. Her works are in many corporate and private collections.

"I am interested in creating an artwork that is alive with emotional interest but has no fixed meaning, open to interpretation by all, similar to works of music and poetry."
